What you learn

The Divemaster course covers dive theory in depth, physics and physiology, dive skills workshops, stress and rescue practice, and supervised practical experience — leading certified divers on guided dives and assisting instructors during student training. It's the longest course on the PADI ladder and genuinely builds you into a working dive professional.

Requirements

You need PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent), at least 40 logged dives to start (60 to certify), EFR Primary and Secondary Care within the last 24 months, and to be at least 18 years old. A medical statement signed by a physician is also required.

Duration

Most divers complete Divemaster training in 2-4 weeks in Dahab, depending on how many dives they arrive with and how many hours they can put in per day — it can also be spread over a longer working stay.
