More time underwater, shorter surface intervals. The Enriched Air Diver specialty is one of the fastest, most useful courses you can take — pure theory, and it pays off on every dive afterward.
You'll learn what enriched air (nitrox) is, why it extends your allowed bottom time compared to normal air, how to analyse a tank's oxygen content yourself, and how to set your dive computer correctly for nitrox. There's no in-water skills requirement — some centres offer an optional practice dive, but it isn't mandatory.
You need to be a certified PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) and at least 12 years old. No prior nitrox experience is needed — this is usually the first specialty course divers take.
Most divers complete the theory in a single day, often the same day they arrive or before their first fun dives, so they can start diving with nitrox tanks immediately.
The Enriched Air course in Dahab costs €150 through our verified partner centres, including materials and course fees. Reserve online for free and pay at the dive centre on the day. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before you start.
Nitrox is especially useful on multi-dive days and safaris — see our fun dives & packages for the multi-dive trips where the extra bottom time makes the biggest difference.
