Widely rated the most rewarding PADI course — you learn to spot and solve problems before they become emergencies, and to help other divers when they need it.
Rescue Diver combines knowledge development (self-study or in Dahab), rescue exercises in confined water, and open-water scenarios covering everything from tired-diver tows to missing-diver search patterns and simulated emergency response. It is intensive and hands-on, and most divers say it changes how they dive from then on.
You need a PADI Advanced Open Water certification (or equivalent) and a current Emergency First Response (EFR) Primary and Secondary Care certification, or equivalent CPR/first-aid training — our partner centres can run the EFR course alongside Rescue Diver if you don't already hold it.
The Rescue Diver course in Dahab costs €380 through our verified partner centres, including equipment, instruction and free hotel or camp pickup arranged by email. Reserve online for free and pay at the dive centre on the day. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before you start.
Rescue Diver is the required step before PADI Divemaster, and is also valuable on its own for any diver who wants to dive with more awareness and confidence.
